RockDove Review

Have you ever walked on a cloud? Better yet, have you ever had your feet hugged by a cloud?

This year for Yule, Derek and I got a pair of RockDove Alpinz Puffer Booties. I got a size 7 (I usually wear between a size 6.5 to 7.5) and Derek got a size 10 (he’s usually a 9.5). The plan for these booties was to use them as slippers around camp. I typically take off my boots or sandals (depending on the season) and wear socks or go barefoot until the next day when I am ready to hike again. Last time, I wore my wool socks around camp and between the obvious cold and the sand and dirt, it just wasn’t pleasant. It was obviously better than just wearing my heavy boots or just flip flops, but still not ideal. That’s when these boots came into play.

Derek saw them advertised on Amazon. They met the bill: lightweight, affordable (about $30 before shipping), harder sole with tread, and a warmly lined inside. There is also a hook on each boot. I will no doubt use these to hang them up once I’m ready for bed. The other upside is that I can slide these on with little effort. If I don’t have to bend over and mess with the heel, I am pleased- especially if I’ve been hiking all day with a third of my body weight.

At the end of the day, I’m excited. These slippers will make my life easier and my feet warmer and the only way they would be better is if they came in purple or dispensed whiskey.

We hope you all are having a great holiday season and are able to hike and adventure as you see fit. We will definitely update this post once the booties are able to really get put through the ringer. But for now, they are really really really nice slippers.
